Bengals Finish 4 Game Sweep of #5 JCJC
Lady Bengals (39-5) defeat Jones County JC (30-7), 5-0 and 11-4.
In game one of Thursdays doubleheader, Tina Schulz led the Lady Bengals defensively in the circle, pitching seven innings, giving up one hit, one walk, and striking out five. Schulz also led the Lady Bengals offense, going 3-4, one run and one RBI, Brooke Ort went 2-4 with two runs scored.
Jones County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second game, holding the Lady Bengals scoreless until the fourth inning. The Lady Bengals scored 11 runs in the three remaining innings of play. As a team the Lady Bengals racked up 13 hits, led by Taylor Simon going 4-4 with three runs and two RBIs, Kelsey Hollier going 2-3 with two RBIs and a in the park home run. In the circle Kaylee Guidry pitched six innings for the Lady Bengals, giving up two runs. Doren Welch came in the 7th inning to make her third appearance in the circle for the Bengals.
Lady Bengals will host Blinn College on Saturday the 14th, game is set for 12:00 pm
