LSU Eunice Defeats Baton Rouge 9-8

nd, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (40-4) won today’s game against Baton Rouge Community College 9-8.
Starting pitcher Brady Domangue (Vandebilt Catholic) went 4 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and four runs; three earned, with six walks and nine strikeouts. Domangue was relieved by Brandt Bourgeois (Destrehan) who went 3 1/3 innings, allowing six hits and four runs; two earned, with one walk and two strikeouts. Jared Dye (Mangham) followed Bourgeois pitching 2 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and two strikeouts. Will Bacon (Parkview Baptist) (4-0) got the win, finishing the game for the Bengals pitching one inning, allowing one hit and no runs with two walks and one strikeout.
Garrett Deschamp (Parkview Baptist) led the offense going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Dalton Herrington (Minden) and Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) each went 2-for-5. Herrington tallied two RBI’s with a double and his eighth homerun of the season. Sam Carriere added his fourth homerun of the season, hitting a two run dinger to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.
The win gives the Bengals the 2-1 series win and moved LSU Eunice’s record against Baton Rouge to 5-1 on the season.
The Bengals next game is scheduled for Tuesday April 24
th against LSU Alexandria at 6:00 PM at Bengal Stadium.
