LSU Eunice Completes Sweep of Galveston

th, Eunice, LA – The LSU Eunice baseball team (48-4) completed a three game sweep of Galveston College today; winning by a score of 14-4.
Zac Person (Eunice) (7-0) started on the mound going 4.0 innings, allowing four hits and two runs with five walks and three strikeouts. Person was followed by Jared Dye (Mangham) in the fifth inning and Tanner Olinde (Catholic Pointe Coupee) in the sixth. The two combined to allow no hits and one unearned run with no walks and one strikeout apiece. Chad Miller (Sulphur) started the seventh inning and allowed three hits and one run before Kirk Savoy (Holy Savior Menard) recorded the last two outs; one via a strikeout.
Offensively, LSU Eunice was led by Sam Carriere (Destrehan) who went 4-for-5 with his fifth homerun of the season, three runs scored, and four RBI’s. Casey Rodrigue (Brother Martin) added three singles and also tallied four RBI’. Zac Hawkins (Northlake Christian) also had three singles and scored three runs.
The next scheduled game for the Bengals will be Thursday May 10
th at 6:00 PM at Southern University in Baton Rouge. That will begin a three-game series between the two teams.
