Lady Bengals fall at Blinn
BRENHAN, Texas – It was a close battle early on, but Blinn College went on a 29-18 run before halftime and the Lady Buccaneers rolled to a 103-68 win over the LSU Eunice Lady Bengals on Tuesday night.
LSU fought to grab a 28-26 lead before Blinn answered to take a 55-44 lead at intermission.
Katie Lemieux scored 18 points in the first half to spark the Lady Bengals, but only scored two free throws in the second half.
Amber Richard and Amber Braxton each scored 10 points in the first half, but the duo was limited to just nine and seven points in the second half. Richard finished with 19 and Braxton chipped in 17 points.
Maggie Miller contributed seven points for LSU Eunice as one of just seven Lady Bengals to dress out for the trip.
The Lady Bengals were outscored 26-12 in the first 10 minutes of the second half and 22-12 to close out the game.
Katelynn Johnson led Blinn with 22 points while Nancy Warioba finished with 21 points.
LSU Eunice (0-13) will take time off until Jan. 2 as the Lady Bengals travel to Hanceville, Ala. to participate in the Wallace State Community College Lady Lions New Year's tournament.
