The LSU Eunice baseball team split a midweek doubleheader on the road against Centenary College on Wednesday night, falling in game one 4-2 before a 19-0 victory in the second game.

In the first game, Centenary took a one run lead in the bottom of the second inning before the Bengals (22-6) tied the game in the top of the fifth, only to see the hosts respond with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to retake the lead.

LSU Eunice plated a second run in the top of the sixth before Centenary tallied the final run of the game in the bottom of the frame.

The Bengals managed just four hits in the game, as Tyler Chapman finished 2-for-3 at the plate, while Mason Nickens and Sam Walley each added a hit.

Kyle St. Pierre (0-3) and Madison Nickens (0-2) each added an RBI as the Bengals drew five walks and left eight men on base.

Centenary used a pair of hits to score their first run in the second inning before the Bengals tied the game in the top of the fifth with three walks, plating their run when St. Pierre was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

The hosts answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning via a pair of hits and a LSU Eunice error to push the lead to two runs. Chapman's leadoff triple in the top of the sixth inning, later scoring on Madison Nickens' RBI groundout would be as the visitors would get.

Jordan Romero finished with five hits and five RBIs, while Brennan Bozeman (double, 3 RBIs) and Stefan Trosclair (two doubles, 5 RBIs) each notched three hits. The Bengals posted four runs in the second inning and three runs in both the third and fifth innings in addition to the 11-run fourth frame.

In the big fourth inning, LSU Eunice used five hits and an error, highlighted by David two-run singles from LaFleur and Bozeman, a three-run homer by Trosclair and a grand slam from Romero.
