Bossier Parish holds off Lady Bengals
EUNICE - The Lady Bengals battled in their home opener, but Bossier Parish Community College held on for a 81-75 win Wednesday night.
The Lady Cavaliers jumped out to a 24-15 advantage, but LSU Eunice closed the gap to 42-32 at the break. The Lady Bengals out scored BPCC 18-16 in the third period to pull closer, 58-50.
LSU Eunice continued to battle in the final period with 26-23 advantage, but the Lady Bengals fell six points short of forcing the game into overtime.
Becca Brooks and Katie Lemieux each scored 26 points for LSU Eunice, while Sydney Martin chipped in 12 points. Diamond Willis scored 27 points to lead the Lady Cavs.
The Lady Bengals travel to Panama City this weekend to face Henry Ford College at noon on Saturday followed by Gulf Coast State College at 1 p.m. Sunday.
