Lady Bengals grab win over Henry Ford
PANAMA CITY – The Lady Bengals picked up their first win of the season Saturday as LSU Eunice grabbed an 84-70 victory over Henry Ford Community College in the tournament held at Gulf Coast State College.
LSU Eunice trailed 18-17 after the first quarter before regrouping to grab a 39-36 advantage at the break.
The Lady Bengals outscored the Lady Hawks 21-16 in the third period to push ahead 60-52 as the game moved into the final period.
LSU Eunice sealed the win with a 25-18 run in the fourth quarter as the Lady Bengals increased the final margin to 14 points.
Katie Lemieux led LSU Eunice with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while Becca Brooks finished with 23 points (seven three-pointers) and seven rebounds.
Macy Hoffpauir added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Bengals.
Keyanna Austin led Henry Ford with 31 points including four treys.
LSU Eunice (1-6) will take on Gulf Coast State College at 1 p.m. on Sunday before returning home to face Angelina College at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
