LSU Eunice exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the seventh to seal a 20-0 win over St. Charles College in the opening game of the three-game series on Friday at Bengal Field.
Mitch Sewald improved to 3-0 on the season as he struck out three, walked one with three hits and two hitbatsmen over six innings of work.
Jacob Barton struck out one, walked one with one hit batter in the seventh inning for the Bengals.
The Bengals (4-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first begun when Madison Nickens doubled and scored on a balk.
Brennan Bozeman singled and advanced to third on a pair of balks before scoring on a ground-out to second by Cade Stone.
LSU Eunice exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third inning as the Bengals moved ahead, 7-0.
Stone doubled and scored on a single by Steven Sensley, who advanced to the corner on a wild pitch and another balk. Sensley touched home plate on a double by Jesse Lee as the Bengals increased their lead to 4-0.
After Lee stole third, Nick Coomes drove him in with a single before Jordan Romero cleared the bases with a home run.
The Bengals moved ahead 9-0 in the bottom of the fourth when Stone walked and scored on a triple by Sensley, who came home on a sacrifice by Lee.
LSU Eunice added another run in the bottom of the fifth when Trey Caswell was hit by a pitch and scored on a single by Bozeman.
The Bengals broke the game wide open with 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to seal the 20-0 win.
Lee singled, Coomes followed with a double and both scored when Romero reached on a St. Charles infield error.
Romero crossed home plate on a single by Nickens who scored on a single by Bozeman.
Stone blasted a two-run homer and the offensive surge continued when Sensley (walk) and Mark Fontenot (single) both scored on a single by Romero.
The Bengals completed the romp when Caswell doubled to plate Romero and Coomes (hit by pitch) for the 20-0 victory.
Sensley went 3-for-6 with 4 RBI and two RBI, while Stone went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI, three runs scored and a walk to lead the Bengals.
Lee and Bozeman each went 2-for-4 with a RBI, two runs scored a walk.
Coomes went 2-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored, while Romero went 2-for-4 with two RBI, three runs scored and a walk.
Caswell finished 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, two runs scored and a walk, while David LaFleur went 1-for-1 with a 2-RBI double.
After the series with St. Charles, LSU Eunice will entertain North Central Texas College.
