Lady Bengals fall to Baton Rouge in Miss-Lou battle

BATON ROUGE – In the battle for the Miss-Lou Conference lead, Baton Rouge Community College grabbed an 84-76 win over LSU Eunice Wednesday night.
The Lady Bengals (5-17, 4-3) will close the season with home games against Southern-Shreveport on Saturday and Delgado Community College at 6 p.m. next Wednesday.
LSU Eunice fell behind 32-21 in the first half before a 19-16 battle closed the gap to 48-40 at intermission.
The Lady Bears pushed ahead 69-53 with a 21-13 run in the second half before the Lady Bengals answered with a 23-15 surge to close the final margin to eight points.
Amber Richard led LSU Eunice with 22 points including five three-pointers, while Katie Lemieux chipped in 15 points.
Taylor Holzmeier finished with 11 points and India Marbs contributed 10 points.
Meghan Knight added eight points, while Amber Braxton and Maggie Miller each chipped in five points.
