Lady Bengals complete sweep over Coffeyville
The second-ranked Lady Bengals completed a four-game sweep over Coffeyville Community College as LSU Eunice rolled to a pair of 8-0 wins on Saturday.
Kayla Davidson earned the first win as she limited the Lady Ravens to two hits with five strikeouts over five innings.
The Lady Bengals scored three runs in the bottom of the second begun when Abigail Ohlin doubled, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a single by Taylor Boulet.
Maddie Edmonston walked and scored on a passed ball, while Destin Vicknair's (2-for-3, RBI) single drove in Boulet.
LSU Eunice added two more runs in the bottom of the third as Katie Flowers singled, Ginny Daggett walked before Ohlin cleared the bases with a triple to left field.
The Lady Bengals pushed ahead 6-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning as Danielle Cruickshank (1-for-3, run scored) singled, stole second and then scored when Flowers (2-for-3, run scored) singled to second.
LSUE completed the mercy-rule win with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth begun when Ohlin (3-for-3, 2 RBI, two runs scored) singled and scored on an error.
Edmonston (2-for-2 with two runs scored) bunted her way on and ended the game when she scored on a single by Boulet (3-for-4, 2 RBI, run scored).
