PENSACOLA, Fla. – Seventh-ranked LSU Eunice picked up three wins this weekend in the Pirates tournament held at Pensacola State College.
The Bengals (16-4) cruised to a 10-0 win over Snead State (Ala.) Community College (1-7) on Sunday to complete the sweep and increase its win streak to 13 games.
Sam Walley (4-1) earned the win as he struck out nine, walked four and scattered two hits over five innings.
LSU Eunice scored a run in the bottom of the first when Cade Stone walked with two outs and crossed home plate when Nick Coomes singled to centerfield.
The Bengals added two more runs in the bottom of the third when Brennan Bozeman and Stone singled to start the rally.
Bozeman stole home, while Stone scored on a wild pitch as LSU Eunice led, 3-0.
The Bengals exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to grab an eight-run lead, begun when Jordan Romero singled and scored on a sacrifice by Zach LaFleur.
David LaFleur walked and scored on a single by Stone, while Jesse Lee and Bozeman both walked and all three Bengals crossed home plate when Steven Sensley doubled to right field.
LSU Eunice sealed the 10-run win with two more runs in the bottom of the sixth begun when Bozeman walked and scored on a single by Stone, who also scored on a Snead error.
Sensley went 2-for-3 with a walk and four RBI, while Stone went 2-for-3 with a RBI, a walk and four runs scored.
The Bengals opened the tournament on Saturday with a 9-2 win over host PSC as LSU Eunice pitcher Mitch Sewald (5-0) picked up a complete-game victory as he struck out six, walked one and allowed two earned runs on seven hits.
LSU Eunice exploded for five runs in the top of the fifth to put the game away, begun when Romero was hit by a pitch, Turner Francis singled and David LaFleur singled.
Zach LaFleur reached on a wild throw which allowed Romero and Francis to cross home plate for a 6-1 lead.
Bozeman was hit by a pitch and pinch hitter Joe Trahan hit a sacrifice to plate David LaFleur, while Zach LaFleur scored on a wild pitch and Cade Stone's sacrifice fly scored Bozeman as the Bengals pushed ahead, 9-1.
The Bengals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Francis singled with two outs and scored on LaFleur's single to left field.
The Pirates (16-9) tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning Derek Fritz singled and scored on a double by Tate Sweatt.
LSU Eunice retook the lead for good with two runs in the top of the third as Mark Fontenot was hit by a pitch, Cade Stone singled and both scored on a single to center by Romero.
Pensacola closed the gap to 9-2 in the bottom of the fifth when Armond Upshaw walked and scored on a ground-out from Miles Fore, but the Pirates could get no closer in the seven-inning game.
David LaFleur went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to pace the Bengal offense.
Romero went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored, while Bozeman went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
In Saturday's finale, the Bengals blasted six runs in the top of the third inning to grab a 9-5 win over rival Baton Rouge Community College.
Ben Braymer (3-1) earned the win as he struck out six, walked three and allowed three hits over five innings of work.
The Bengals grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Steven Sensley walked, advanced on a wild pitch and a stolen base before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Francis.

Bozeman bunted and reached on a fielder's choice that plated Bourque to seal the 9-5 win.
No Bengal batter had multiple hits, but Stone led with three RBI with his home run.
LSU Eunice is set to entertain Centenary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, but the predicted rain could force a schedule change.
