Lady Bengals Sweep Cowley in Friday Doubleheader

LSU Eunice continued their home stand with a pair of 13-1, 11-3 wins over Cowley County Friday at Lady Bengal Field.
In the opener, LSU Eunice exploded for six runs in the bottom of the firs, sparked when Maddie Edmonston was hit by a pitch and after a double play, Rebecca Skains drove in Edmonston.
Darby Bishop singled to right and scored on Hope Vizinat's hit.
Alli Daigle walked and Jaci Lavigne followed with a single to center that pushed in Skains and Vizinat for a 4-0 LSU Eunice advantage.
Savannah Lejeune singled in Daigle, while Edmonston's single drove in Lavigne as the Lady Bengals moved ahead, 6-0.
LSU Eunice added four more runs in the bottom of the second, begun when Skains singled and scored on Vizinat's ground-out, while Molly Wilson walked and scored on Daigle's hit to centerfield.
After Lavigne walked, Lejeune drove in Daigle and Lavigne as the Lady Bengals increased their lead to 10-0.
Cowley avoided the shutout in the top of the fourth when Carley Strawn reached on a fielder's choice and scored on a single by Maddie Anderson.
LSU Eunice sealed the mercy-rule win with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, begun when Daigle walked and scored on a triple by Lavinge.
Olivia Gabor singled in Lavigne, while Mallory Perrault drove in Gabor to complete the 13-1 decision.
Abigail Leonards earned the win as she struck out four and scattered three hits over three innings.
Vidillier closed the final two innings as she walked two and allowed one run on four hits.
Lavigne led the Lady Bengal bats as she went 2-for-2 with a walk, three RBI and three runs scored.
Lejeuene went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Skains went 2-for-2 with a RBI and two runs scored.

The Lady Bengals grabbed another mercy-rule win in the finale as LSU Eunice jumped out to a 1-0 lead and then finished with a 10-run surge in the  third and fourth innings.
Edmonston was hit by a pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Skains in the bottom of the first inning.
LSU Eunice added four more runs in the bottom of the third, begun when Smith walked and Edmonston singled and both scored on Angelle's single to third.
Skains reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Angelle to score as the Lady Bengals moved ahead, 4-0.
Bishop walked, Daigle singled and then Thomas' single to left drove in Skains for a 5-0 LSU Eunice advantage.
Cowley scored twice in the top of the fourth, as Alex Holzman singled and scored on Morgan Kirk's double who then crossed home plate on Kylie Dillion's hit to centerfield.
The Lady Bengals exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the game out of reach, begun when Smith walked and scored on Edmonston's punt to the pitcher.
Angelle's sacrifice scored Edmonston before the Lady Bengals loaded the bases on consecutive singles by Skains, Bishop and Daigle.
Thomas singled in Skains and Bishop, while Daigle scored on Jordan Hartman's double as the Lady Bengals led, 11-2.
Cowley added a run in the top of the fifth when Emilee Baker walked, stole second and later scored on a passed ball.
Dougherty earned the win as she struck out three, walked three and allowed one earned run on three hits over four innings.
Savannah Gates pitched the fifth frame, striking out one and walked one batter.
Edmonston went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, while Daigle went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Skains went 1-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored, as Angelle went 1-for-1 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored.
