Bengals Blast Past St. Charles, 14-4

LSU Eunice improved to 7-0 on the baseball season with 14-4 run-rule win over St. Charles Community College Friday night at Bengal Stadium.
Zach LaFleur hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the first to help the Bengals jump out to a 4-0 lead.
Nick Coomes and Michael Claverie both walked  to keep the rally going.
Turner Francis singled in Coomes, while Claverie scored on a sacrifice by Hunter Feduccia.
Francis scored when Trenon Trosclair advanced on a St. Charles error as the Bengals moved ahead, 4-0.
The Bengals added two more runs in the bottom of the second inning, begun when Coomes reached on an error, Claverie was hit by a pitch and both scored when Francis doubled to centerfield.
St. Charles closed the gap to 4-2 in the top of the third when Jeremy Cologna bunted and Austin Forney belted a home run over the right field fence.
The Cougars pulled closer with another run in the top of the fifth inning when Blade McKee singled and scored on a double by Elias Macias.
The Bengals put the game away with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to push ahead, 11-3.
Orynn Veillon opened with a home run, while Trosclair doubled and scored on Gavin Bourque's single.
Bourque scored on LaFleur's single.
LaFleur stole second and third before scoring on Will Watson's single to left.
Watson stole second and  scored on Claverie's sacrifice fly.
St. Charles scored in the  top of the sixth when Brian Land walked and scored on Cologna's single.
LSU Eunice answered with a run in the bottom of the inning when Feduccia walked and scored on a sacrifice fly by Bourque.
The Bengals added a run in the seventh when Francis was hit by a pitch and scored on a St. Charles balk.
LSU Eunice sealed the win with another run in the bottom of the eighth when Fontenot doubled, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on Watson's single to centerfield.
Erin Baldwin earned his third win of the season  as he struck out nine, walked four and allowed four earned runs on five hits over 5.2 innings of work.
Watson went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while Turner went 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
LaFleur and Bourque both went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Veillon and Trosclair both went 2-for-4 with a RBI.
LSU Eunice faces St. Charles again at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
