Lady Bengals Down Delgado In Miss-Lou Play

The LSU Eunice Lady Bengals kept the Miss-Lou Conference title hopes alive with a 70-58 win over Delgado Community College Saturday.
The Lady Bengals (7-18, 3-3) entertain Baton Rouge Community College at 6 p.m. Wednesday for Sophomore Night in LSU Eunice's home finale.
The Lady Bengals jumped out to a 20-15 first quarter advantage, sparked by a trio of three-pointers by Amber Richard along with five points from Becca Brooks and four more by Katie Lemieux.
Jasmine Mosby helped the Lady Dolphins keep the game close with eight points in the first quarter.
LSU Eunice outscored Delgado 17-12 in the second period as the Lady Bengals took a 37-27 advantage into the locker room.
Brooks nailed two more three-pointers to aid the Lady Bengals attack, while Madelyn LeJeune hit three free throws to go with buckets from Richard, Lemieux, Abby Jolie and Morgan Eddleman.
The two teams battled for control in the third period as the Lady Bengals outscored Delgado, 16-15 as LSU Eunice pushed ahead 53-42 as the game moved to the final quarter.
Brooks hit another three-pointer, while Lemieux added six points for the Lady Bengals.
Eddleman chipped in three points in the third frame joined by two free throws by Macy Hoffpauir.
The fourth quarter was another fight as the Lady Bengals outscored Delgado 17-16 in the final period.
Lemieux helped seal the win as she poured in 12 points in the quarter to finish with 24 points.
Brooks hit her fifth three-pointer of the game to finish with 17 points, while LeJeune scored in the lane to add seven points for the night.
Richard scored all of her 11 points in the first half, while Eddleman finished with seven points.
Sierra Jackson scored seven points in the fourth period for Delgado to finish with 11 points.
Katherine Ward also scored 11 points, while Mianette Guidry chipped in 10 points and Ladaisha Brown contributed nine points.
