WHARTON, Texas – After starting the baseball season 9-0 at home, the LSU Eunice Bengals went on the road Tuesday and earned wins  against two Texas schools.
The Bengals opened with a 13-6 win over Wharton Junior College and followed with a 16-10 victory over Coastal Bend College.
Against Wharton, the Bengals opened with a 1-0  lead when Zach LaFleur walked, stole second and scored on a two-out double by Michael Claverie.
After Wharton forced a tie in the bottom of the second, the Bengals retook a 3-1 advantage in the top of the third as Watson walked, Coomes singled and both scored.
LSU Eunice added three more runs in the top of the fourth,  begun as Janson Bourque walked and scored on a passed ball.
Watson walked and then Coomes blasted a home run over the left field fence.
Wharton closed the gap to 6-4 in the bottom of the  fifth, but the Bengals responded with six runs in the top of the seventh to put the game away.
Bourque walked and later scored on Watson's single to left field.
LaFleur doubled and both Watson and LaFleur scored on Veillion's hit.
Coomes walked, Turner Francis was hit by a pitch as  Mark Fontenot's triple to right field cleared the bases for a 12-4 advantage.
After Wharton scored twice in the bottom of the seventh, LaFleur homered in the top of the eighth inning to seal the win.
Evan Kissinger earned his first win of the season as he struck out two and allowed two runs on four hits over three innings of work.
Bengal starter Brian Metoyer went 2.2 innings with two strikeouts, two walks and allowed two earned runs on three hits.
At the plate, Orynn Veillon went 3-for-4 with a walk, three  RBI and a run scored.
LaFleur went 2-for-4 with three walks, three stolen bases and three runs scored.
Nick Coomes went 2-for-6 with a walk, three runs scored as well as a two run home run in the top of the fourth inning.
Hunter Feduccia went 3-for-5 with a walk and a RBI.
Francis went 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Claverie went 2-for-4 with a walk and a RBI.
Watson went 1-for-4 with three walks and three runs scored, while Mark Fontenot went 1-for-2  with a three RBI triple.
LSUE 16, Coastal Bend 10
The Bengals jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning against Coastal Bend, begun as LaFleur singled, stole second and scored Claverie's sacrifice fly to left.
Watson and Francis both walked and then scored Fontenot's home run over the right field fence.
Coastal Bend exploded for five runs in the top of the third, aided by four walks and two hits.
The Bengals scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning, begun when  Francis singled while Fontenot and Nick Coomes walked to load the bases.
Bo Myers then cleared the bases with a double to right field as the Bengals grabbed a 7-5 lead.
Coastal Bend scored three runs in the top of the fourth frame to retake a 8-7 advantage, aided by a home run by Charlie Overstreet and a RBI triple by Allik Anchondo.
The Bengals again responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to grab a 12-8 lead.
LaFleur doubled, Watson was hit by a pitch and Veillon ripped a home run to centerfield to push LSU Eunice ahead, 10-7. Claverie doubled and scored on a wild pitch, while Francis walked and scored when  Coomes doubled to righ field.
Coastal Bend added a run in the fifth and sixth innings to close the margin to 12-10, but the Bengals sealed the win with four runs in the  bottom of the sixth inning.
Fontenot walked and Fontenot followed with a home run to extend  LSU Eunice's lead to a 14-10.
Myers singled and later Watson homered to left to complete the Bengal scoring.
Austin Bradford earned his first win of the season as he walked one,  and allowed two earned runs on three hits over 1.1 innings.
Coomes went 3-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and two runs scored, while Myers went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored and LaFleur went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

LSU Eunice opens a three-game series with Lurleen B. Wallace at 6 p.m. Friday at Bengal Stadium.
