Bengals Grab 1-0 Win Over Brookhaven

The top-ranked LSU Eunice scored a run in the bottom of the first and then held on for a 1-0 win over Brookhaven College Friday night to open the three-game series at  Bengal Stadium.
Zach LaFleur doubled to center and Will Watson was hit by a pitch to begin the inning.
With one out, LaFleur stole third and Watson stole second as the Bengals threatened.
LaFleur scored on a passed ball in what turned out to be the only run of the game.
Bengal starting pitcher Erin Baldwin earned his second win of the season as he struck out five batters, walked two and scattered three hits over five innings of work.
Conner Bates pitched three innings and struck out two and allowed two hits, while Jacob Barton struck out two and allowed one hit in the final inning.
LaFleur went 1-for-4 with a run scored, while Hunter Feduccia (1-for-3) and Trenon Trosclair (1-for-3) had the other two Bengal hits in the game.
LSU Eunice faces Brookhaven at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
