Lady Bengals Pick Up Second Win In PRCC Tourney

LSU Eunice 9, Pearl River 0
LSU Eunice continued their offensive barrage in the Pearl River tournament with a 9-0, five-inning win over host Lady Wildcats Friday.
The Lady Bengals (5-1) opened with two runs in the top of the first inning, begun when Maddie Edmonston singled to open the frame and scored when Rebecca Skains later doubled with two outs to keep the rally alive.
Vizinat followed with a double to drive in Skains to give LSU Eunice a 2-0 lead.
The Lady Bengals then exploded for five runs in the top of the second to pull away from the  Lady Wildcats.
Jaci Lavigne singled,  Jessica Thomas walked  and both scored to give LSU Eunice a 4-0 lead.
Maddie Edmonston singled and scored on a double by Annemarie Angelle before Darby Bishop cleared the bases with a home run to centerfield.
The Lady Bengals added to their 7-0 lead when Lavigne singled and scored on Edmonston's triple to right field.
LSU Eunice forged ahead 9-0 with a run in the top of the fourth when Bishop singled and then pinch runner Mallory Perrault stole second and scored on Vizinat's hit to right field.
Abigail Leonards earned the win as she struck out three, walked one and allowed two hits over four innings.
Jordan Dougherty pitched the final inning of the mercy-rule win as she struck out one, walked one and allowed one hit in the shutout.
Skains went 3-for-3 with a run scored and Edmonston went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored to lead LSU Eunice.
Vizinat and Bishop both went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Lavigne went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
