Bengals Improve To 6-0 On Season

Top-ranked LSU Eunice improved to 6-0 on the season as the Bengals earned a 6-1 win over Brookhaven College in the series finale Sunday.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Bengals grabbed a 2-0 advantage.
Bo Myers and Zach LaFleur both singled with one out and advanced on a wild pitch and stolen base before Nick Coomes doubled to left field to drive in the Bengal duo.
LSU Eunice added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, begun when Mark Fontenot walked and Turner Francis ripped a home run to left field.
Trenon Trosclair then singled to left, stole both second and third before scoring on a double play.
The Bengals pushed ahead 6-0 when Will Watson launched a first-pitch home run to left field  in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Brookhaven avoided a shutout when Brian Canida hit a home run to left field in the top of the ninth inning.
Hayden Marze earned his second win of the season as he struck out seven, walked four and allowed two hits in five shut-out innings.
Turner went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Bengals, while Coomes went 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Watson went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored, while Lafleur finished 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Fontenot went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, while Trosclair and Myers both finished 1-for-3 with a run scored.
LSU Eunice opens a three-game series 6 p.m. Friday against St. Charles College.
