Lady Bengals Earn Three More Wins

NICEVILLE, Florida - The  top-ranked Lady Bengals picked up three wins Friday in the Northwest Florida State College tournament including a 5-3 victory over defending NJCAA Division I champion Chipola College.
After three scoreless innings, Chipola pushed ahead 3-0, begun when Jamie Morgan singled, advanced on a passed ball, stole third and scored on a Lady Bengal error.
Erin Dady and Lexie Basford singled and both scored when  Gabriela  Santos doubled to right field to give the Lady Indians a three-run advantage.  
The Lady Bengals (33-2) answered with two runs in the top of the sixth when Darby Bishop reached on an error, Rebecca Skains singled and Bobbi Smith hit a two-RBI double  to close the gap to 3-2.
LSU Eunice then rallied for the win as the Lady Bengals pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Abby Mondy singled and scored on a hit by Olivia Garbor to tie the game, 3-3.
Maddie Edmonston singled and crossed home plate on a hit by Bobbi Smith, while Skains was hit by a pitch with two outs and scored on Alli Daigle's hit to left field as the Lady Bengals then held on for the win .
Abigail Leonards was awarded the win as she struck out two and allowed three earned runs on five hits over four innings.
Jordan Dougherty threw the final two innings as she struck out one and walked one but did not allow a hit.
The Lady Bengals recorded eight hits against the Lady Indians, led by Smith's 2-for-4, three RBI outing.
Edmonston also went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Daigle went 2-for-2 with a RBI.
LSU Eunice opened the day with a 15-1 mercy-rule win over Wabash Valley, a team they beat 5-1 to begin the tournament on Thursday.
The Lady Warriors scored first with a run in the top of the second as Kenedy House doubled and later scored when Lacey Wiltzbacher reached on a bases-loaded walk.
The Lady Bengals regrouped to score four runs in the bottom of the innng, begun when Smith singled and scored on a Wabash error to tie the game.
Jeanmarie Angelle singled and crossed home plate on Jaci Lavigne's ground-out.
Edmonston earned a two-out double and then raced home on Molly Wilson's triple as LSU Eunice led, 4-1.
Bishop's single pushed in Wilson as the Lady Bengals began to pull away from the Lady Warriors.
LSU Eunice added two more runs in the bottom of the third, as Jessica Thomas doubled and then scored on Angelle's two-base hit to center.
Angelle scored on Hope Vizinat's single to the pitcher as the Lady Bengals moved ahead, 6-1.
LSU Eunice exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth to seal the one-sided win.
Bishop  singled and pinch runner Gabor scored when Smith doubled to center, while Thomas singled and both courtesy runner Mallory Perrault  and Smith crossed home  on  Angelle's double up the middle for a 9-1 lead.
Angelle scored on a single by Hope Vizinat to push the Lady Bengals ahead, while Lavigne singled to keep the rally going.
Edmonston followed with another single before Wilson drove in Vizinat and Lavgine for a 12-1 advantage.
Bishop singled in Edmonston and Skains added a double, Perrault walked and Kaitlyn Bertot  singled in two runs to complete the nine-run inning.
Elizabeth Fontenot earned  the win as she struck out three, walked four and allowed one earned run on two hits over four innings.
Hannah Vidillier pitched the final inning as she scattered two hits but did not allow a run.
The Lady Bengals finished with 22 hits, led by Bishop's 4-for-4, 2 RBI performance.
Angelle finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, while six other Lady Bengals added two hits apiece.
In the second game of the day, LSU Eunice scored all their runs in two innings to down Lansing Community College, 9-2.
Madison Adams homered to open the game for the Lady Stars as Lansing held LSU Eunice scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when the Lady Bengals exploded for five runs.
Alli Daigle, Mondy and Edmonston all singled with one out to load the bases.
Wilson drew a walk to plate Daigle to tie the game before Bishop singled in Mondy.
Skains added a sacrifice fly to plate Edmonston and Thomas then cleared the bases with a triple up the middle as LSU Eunice grabbed a 5-1 advantage.
Adams homered again in the top of the fifth for the Lansing's only other run of the game.
The Lady Bengals sealed the win with four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, begun as  Vizinat  and Bishop  both singled before Skains' home run blast to right field.
Thomas walked and courtesty runner Olivia Gabor later scored on Daigle's hit to centerfield as the Lady Bengals pushed ahead, 9-2.
Savannah Cates earned the win as she struck out seven, walked one and allowed two runs on five hits.
Dougherty pitched the final two innings as she walked one and scattered three hits.
The Lady Bengals rapped 13 hits, led by Daigle (3-for-3, 1 BB, 1 RBI, 1 run scored), Bishop (2-for-3, BB,  RBI, two runs scored), Edmonston (2-for-4, run scored) and Mondy (2-for-4, run scored).
LSU Eunice concludes the tournament on Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. game against the Darton
Sttate College Lady Cavaliers.
