Bengals Cruise Past Centenary 14-0

SHREVEPORT – LSU Eunice cruised to a 14-0 win over Centenary College Tuesday as the Bengals improved to 28-0 on the season.

The Bengals scored five runs in the top of the fifth, begun as Zach LaFleur singled and Nick Coomes blasted his seventh home run of the season.

Turner Francis singled, stole second and scored on Michael Claverie's double to left field.  Claverie scored when Hunter Feduccia singled, while the Bengal catcher scored on Trenon Trosclair's hit up the middle to push the Bengals ahead, 5-0.

LSU Eunice added four more runs in the top of the second, sparked as Orynn Veillon singled and then stole second and third before scoring when Francis doubled to right field.

Coomes walked and later scored after Claverie was hit by a pitch and Feduccia walked with the bases loaded.

Francis scored on a wild pitch, while Claverie crossed home plate when Trosclair reached on an errant throw as the Bengals pushed ahead, 9-0.

The Bengals added three more runs in the top of the fourth begun when Francis doubled and then scored on a passed ball.  Feduccia walked and crossed home on LaFleur's single, while Trosclair singled and scored on Will Watson's sacrifice fly to right field.

LSU Eunice moved ahead 13-0 in the top of the sixth as LaFleur singled and scored on a single by Hayden Marze.  Marze hit his second home run of the season in the eighth inning as the Bengals closed the 14-0 win.

Bengal starting pitcher Nathan Lee improved to 3-0 on the year with the win as he struck out three, walked one and scattered three hits over four innings.
Turner went 3-for-6 with a RBI and three runs scored, while LaFleur went 3-for-6 with a RBI and a run scored. Trosclair went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored as teammate Coomes went 2-for-5 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. Marze went 2-for-2 with two RBI and a run scored as the Bengals finished with 18 hits on the night.

LSU Eunice opens a four-game series against Olive-Harvey College at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
