After falling behind 4-1 in Friday's opening game to Olive-Harvey College, LSU Eunice exploded for 20 unanswered runs as the Bengals grabbed a 14-4, 7-0 doubleheader sweep over the Purple Panthers.

LSU Eunice extended its season record to 31-0, while Olive-Harvey falls to 1-9 as the two teams complete the series at noon Saturday.

Olive-Harvey jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Eli Mercado reached on a dropped third strike and later scored on a passed ball.

LSU Eunice tied the game in the bottom of the second when Hunter Feduccia walked and later scored on a two-out throwing error.

The Purple Panthers battled for three runs in the top of the third to retake their last lead of the day, begun when Xavier Wright walked, stole second and scored on Luis Merced's single to left.

Mateo Goytia reached on a two-out walk and then Jeff Reynolds doubled to plate Merced and Goytia as the Purple Panthers moved ahead, 4-1.

The Bengals responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning as Orynn Veillon and Turner Francis both walked before Michael Claverie belted a home run over the left field wall to tie the game 4-4.

LSU Eunice exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth as Trenon Trosclair opened the frame with a triple to right field and scored as Janson Bourque grounded out to first base.

Will Watson tripled to right and scored on a passed ball to push the Bengals ahead, 6-4.

Veillon and Nick Coomes then blasted back-to-back home runs before Francis tripled and scored on Claverie's single to centerfield as the Bengals forged ahead, 9-4.

Nick Schexnaider advanced on an error, while Claverie scored on Trosclair's hit to centerfield as LSU Eunice extended its margin to 10-4.

The Bengals sealed the mercy-rule win with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, begun when LaFleur singled, stole second and scored on Watson's hit to left field.

Watson stole second before scoring on Veillon's hit up the middle for a 12-4 lead.

Coomes reached on an error and Francis drove in Veillon and Coomes to complete the 10-run rule romp.

Bengal starter Erin Baldwin went three innings as he struck out eight, walked three and allowed four earned runs on four hits.

Evan Kissinger earned the win to improve to 4-0 on the season as he struck out two and allowed one hit, while Nick Duthu pitched the fifth inning and struck out two and scattered one hit.

Watson went 3-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored, while LaFleur (2-for-4, RS), Veillon (2-for-3, 2 RBI, 3 RS), Francis (2-for-3, 2 RBI, 2 RS), Claverie (2-for-3, 4 RBI, 2 RS) and Trosclair (2-fof-2, 1 RBI, RS) all recorded multiple hits for the Bengals.

Coomes went 1-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored including his ninth home run of the season as the Bengals scored 14 runs on 14 hits.

In Friday's doubleheader finale, LSU Eunice limited Olive-Harvey batters to just three hits and took advantage of five Purple Panther errors in the 7-0 shutout win.

LSU Eunice scored in the bottom of the first when Trosclair led off with a walk, advanced on a balk, stole third and crossed home on Mark Fontenot's ground out.

The Bengals added three runs in the third frame, begun as Trosclair walked, stole second and scored on Veillon's single to centerfield.

Veillon stole second and third before crossing home plate on a wild throw as the Bengals moved ahead, 3-0.

Coomes walked, stole second and advanced on an error before scoring on Hayden Mixon's sacrifice fly to right field to push LSU Eunice ahead, 4-0.

The Bengals added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, sparked by Schexnaider's double and a RBI single from Trosclair.

Trosclair stole second and moved to the corner on an errant throw before scoring on Veillon's single into the gap.

Veillon stole second, moved to third on a bobble and scored when Coomes doubled to left field as the Bengals forged ahead, 7-0.

Ridge Heisler earned his third win of the season as he pitched six innings with 11 strikeouts, one walk and allowed three hits.

Jacob Barton sealed the shutout, striking out one of the three batters he faced in the seventh inning.

Veillon went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored as Trosclair (1-for-2, 2 BB, 1 RBI, 3 RS), Coomes (1-for-3, 1 BB, 1 RBI, 1 RS) and Schexnaider (1-for-3, 1 RS) collected the other Bengal hits.
