Bengals Improve to 32-0 On Season

The Bengals exploded for 12 runs in the bottom of the third as LSU Eunice cruised to a 16-3 win over Olive Harvey College on Saturday to complete the four-game series.

LSU Eunice (32-0) travels to University of Texas at Tyler (18-8) on Wednesday for a doubleheader with the Patriots before beginning a weekend series at Delgado Community College (18-7).

The Bengals grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Zach LaFleur singled, stole second and advanced to third on a wild throw before scoring on Orynn Veillon's sacrifice fly to centerfield.

LSU Eunice added two more runs in the bottom of the second as Hunter Feduccia and Trenon Trosclair both walked and scored on LaFleur's bases-loaded single as the Bengals led, 3-0.

LSU Eunice then put the game out of reach with 12 runs in the third frame, begun when Will Watsons doubled, stole third and scored on a sacrifice by Nick Coomes.

 Veillon walked and crossed home plate on Francis' hit up the middle.

Michael Claverie reached on an error and Feduccia followed with a three-run home run as the Bengals led, 8-0.

Trosclair doubled, Janson Bourque reached on an error and LaFleur walked to load the bases.

Veillon singled in Trosclair and Bourque as Coomes walked before Francis belted a base-clearing double to push LSU Eunice ahead,  13-0.

Bo Myers then singled in Francis, while Trosclair's hit to center plated Myers as the Bengals scored 12 runs on eight hits and two Purple Panther errors in the inning.

LSU Eunice added a run in the bottom of the fourth as Gavin Bourgeois walked, advanced on an error and scored on a wild pitch.

Olive-Harvey  scored three runs in the top of the fifth but the Purple Panthers could not avoid the mercy-rule, five-inning win by the Bengals.

Robert Williams reached on an error, Carlos Trinidad singled and both scored on Jesus Mendoza's double to centerfield.

Mendoza scored on Luis Merced's single, but Olive-Harvey couldn't get any closer as Travis Cliburn struck out Xavier Wright to end the game.

Bengal starting pitcher Hayden Marze improved to 5-0 on the season with the win as he struck out nine, walked one and did not allow a hit over four innings of work.

Trosclair went 2-for-2 with a walk, a RBI and two runs scored, while LaFleur went 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored.

Francis went 2-for-3, with four RBI and two runs scored as the Bengals finished with 16 runs on 10 hits and eight walks.
