TYLER, Texas – LSU Eunice completed a three-game sweep over Tyler Junior College Sunday as the Bengals rallied for the 8-6, 8-2 doubleheader win over the Apaches.

The Bengals jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the opener as Will Watson walked and scored on Nick Coomes' hit to centerfield.

Tyler exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, begun when Mason Mallard doubled and scored on Nathan Methvin's hit to center.

Jordan Trahan and Jace Campbell both walked to load the bases before another walk by Tanner Arst allowed Methvin to score.

Beau Buesing then doubled in Trahan and Campbell, while Arst scored on a ground-out to give the Apaches a 5-1 advantage.

After a scoreless fifth inning, the Bengals rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth to force a 5-5 tie.

Watson reached on a one-out walk, while Orynn Veillon and Coomes followed with singles.

Michael Claverie cleared the bases with a two-out double before Hunter Feduccia singled in Claverie to tie the game.

TJC answered with a run in the bottom of the inning when Campbell doubled and scored on Buesing's hit as the Apaches grabbed a 6-5 lead.

The Bengals tied the game again with a run in the top of the seventh when Janson Bourque singled and scored on Gavin Bourgeois' sacrifice squeeze bunt.

LSU Eunice then grabbed the extra-inning with two runs in the top of the eighth inning, begun when Turner Francis was hit by a pitch and Feduccia doubled to right field.

Bourque doubled in pinch runner Bo Myers and Feduccia for the winning runs.

The Bengals used five pitchers as Jacob Barton closed the game and earned the win, striking out two and allowed just one hit over the final 1.1 innings.

The Bengals finished with eight hits, led by Coomes (2-for-4, RBI, RS), Claverie (1-for-2, BB, 3 RBI, RS), Feduccia (2-for-4, RBI, RS), Bourque (2-for-4, 2 RBI, RS) and Trenon Trosclair (2-for-4).

In the finale, Tyler Junior College jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Matt Mikusek singled and scored on Trahan's single.

The Bengals pushed across three runs in the top of the third inning, begun Feduccia doubled, Bourque walked and Zach LaFleur singled to load the bases.

Feduccia scored on a wild pitch and Watson followed with a double to drive in Bourque and LaFLeur to give LSU Eunice a 3-1 lead.

The Apaches closed the gap to 3-2 in the bottom of the frame when Mallard doubled and crossed home plate on a hit by Trahan.

LSU Eunice exploded for four runs in the top of the fourth inning, sparked by a single by Fontenot and a double by Feduccia to start the rally.

Fontenot scored on a sacrifice by Bourque, while Feduccia scored on a bunt by LaFleur.

Watson singled in LaFLeur, while Veillon doubled in Watson as the Bengals pushed ahead, 7-2.

The Bengals added an insurance run in the top of the sixth as Feduccia singled and scored on LaFleur's ground-out.

LSU Eunice starter Braxton Smith allowed two earned runs on seven hits with two walks over three innings.

Connor Bates pitched the final four innings and improved his record to 3-0 as he allowed two strikeouts and two hits.

Feduccia went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Watson went 4-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored.

LaFleur finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

The Bengals entertain Centenary on Tuesday before Delgado Community College arrives for a three-game weekend series on Saturday.
