EUNICE – Delgado Community College scored four runs in the seventh inning as the Dolphins grabbed a 7-3 win over LSU Eunice in Sunday's finale of the series between the two teams.
With the game tied at 3-3, Delgado (26-11) began the rally when Daniel Lahare was hit by a pitch, Owen Magee walked and JP LaGreco was hit by pitch to load the bases.
Spencer Miller walked to plate Lahare, while Magee scored on a wild pitch as the Dolphins moved ahead, 5-3.
Christian Volion hit a sacrifice fly to right to push in LaGreco, while Dylan Weston singled in Miller to increase Delgado's lead to 7-3.
The Bengals threatened in the seventh when Nick Coomes singled and again in the eighth inning as Hunter Feduccia walked, but neither could score.
Delgado took a 1-0 lead to open the game as Tyler St. Phillip singled and scored on a wild pitch.
LSU Eunice (40-3) answered with a run in the bottom of the first inning as Orynn Veillon reached on a wild pitch third strike, stole second and third before scoring on a throwing error.
The Dolphins moved ahead 2-1 in the top of the third frame as Magee walked and scored on Volion's hit.
Delgado added a run in the top of the fifth inning as Lahare singled and scored on Volion's single to centerfield.
LSU Eunice closed the gap to 3-2 in the bottom of the inning when Veillon singled, stole second and scored on a sacrifice fly by Nick Coomes.
The Bengals tied the game in the sixth inning as Trenon Trosclair reached on a fielder's choice and later crossed home plate when Zach LaFleur grounded out to second base.
Bengal starter Hayden Marze went 4.2 innings as he struck out five, walked five and allowed three earned runs on four hits.
Nick Duthu (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season as he struck out two, walked two and allowed four earned runs  in 1.1 inning of work.
Evan Kissinger, Conner Bates and Jacob Barton combined to finish the game as the trio allowed just four hits and held the Dolphins scoreless over the last three innings.
LSU Eunice travels to the University of Texas at Tyler on Wednesday for a three-game series, including a doubleheader on Thursday.
