The top-ranked Bengals improved to 45-3 on the season Wednesday as LSU Eunice rolled to a 16-5, 10-4 sweep over LSU Alexandria.

In the opener, the Bengals jumped out to a 10-2 lead with five runs each in both the first and third innings before sealing the win with six more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Starter Nathan Lee improved to 7-0 on the season as he struck out eight and allowed four earned runs on eight hits over five innings.

Hayden Mixon (two strikeouts) and Richard Hebert (three hits) pitched the final two innings for the Bengals.

Nick Coomes went 2-for-5 with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored, while Turner Francis went 3-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Janson Bourque finished 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, a RBI and two runs scored as the Bengals finished with 15 hits.

In the finale, after LSU Alexandria jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, LSU Eunice exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back in the seven inning decision.

The Generals closed the gap to 7-4 with two runs in the top of the third, but the Bengals sealed the win with a run in each of the next three frames.

Mark Fontenot finished 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored for the Bengals, while Zach LaFleur went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two steals,  two RBI and a run scored.

Hunter Feduccia went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored as the Bengals finished with nine hits and 10 RBI.

Six different pitchers saw action for the Bengals including winner Nick Duthu who improved to 4-1 on the season.

Duthu was joined by Orynn Veillon, Connor Bates, Braxton Miller, Evan Kissinger and Travis Cliburn as the Bengal pitchers struck out six and allowed four earned runs on 11 hits.

LSU Eunice entertains Tyler Junior College for a three-game series that begins at 6 p.m. Friday at Bengal Stadium.
