Bengals Stay Alive In Regional Tourney

DECATUR, Mississippi - The top-ranked LSU Eunice Bengals stayed alive in the NJCAA Division II Region 23 tournament with an 11-5 win over Northwest Mississippi Community College.
LSUE has to earn two wins on Saturday to force an if-ncessary game for a chance to capture the regional title.
The Bengals scored a run in the top of the third when Trenon Trosclair bunted and then crossed home plate when Janson Bourque doubled to left field.
LSU Eunice exploded for six runs on six hits in the top of the fourth as the Bengals pushed ahead, 7-0.
Turner Francis opened the inning with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Michael Claverie.
Hunter Feduccia walked and scored on a single by Bourque, while Mark Fontenot singled and the duo scored on a single by Zach LaFleur. 
Will Watson followed with a run home run to extend the Bengals margin to seven runs.
Northwest closed the gap to 7-4 in the bottom of the fifth, begun when Tanner Lloyd was hit by a pitch, LeeMarcus Boyd walked and both scored when Hunter Wilson doubled to right field.
Wilson scored on David Herrington's double, while Aaron Cambell singled and scored on a sacrifice by Jamell Newson.
The Bengals added a run in the top of the sixth when Lafleur slammed his seven home run of the season to push LSUE ahead, 8-4.
The Bengals put the game out of reach with two more runs in the seventh inning, begun when Francis singled and scored on a wild pitch.
Feduccia doubled and later scored on a double by Claverie for a 10-4 advantage.
Northwest scored a run in the bottom of the inning when Wilson singled and crossed home with Herrington's double.
LSUE sealed the win when Watson singled and scored on Francis' hit to right to give the Bengals a 11-5 lead.
