Late Free Throws Deal LSUE Loss To Chipola College

SUMMIT, Ms. – A free throw barrage from Chipola College in the second half was too much for LSUE to overcome as the Bengals fell 75-69 in the second day of the Coca-Cola Classic on the campus of Southwest Mississippi.

The Indians sunk 21-of-27 free throws in the second half alone to push past the Bengals (2-3).  LSUE trailed Chipola by just one point after a 9-0 Bengal run put the game at 57-56 with under five minutes to play.  The Indians then went 15-of-16 from the free throw line to close out the game and edge out victory.

Daniel Oladpado paced Chipola with 16 points while Christian Lorng scored 10 points including eight free throws made.

LSUE went into the locker rooms ahead 27-25 behind 12 points from Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS).  The sophomore would go on to score a team-high 16 points.

Jacques Clark (Alexandria, LA, Tioga HS), Jacques Clark (Alexandria, LA, Tioga HS) and Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) shouldered the load in the second half, combining for 33 points.  All three ended the game in double figures.

LSU Eunice returns home Saturday to face Holmes CC in a doubleheader with the women's team.
