EUNICE, La. – Jakobey Hitchens scored all 14 of his points in the second half to help LSU Eunice push past Texas Prep Sports Academy, 94-82.  Hitchens (Baton Rouge, LA, Jehovah-Jireh HS) was one of five Bengals to record double digits on the night, the second straight game the LSUE offense was able to accomplish that feat.
 
The two sides battled back and forth throughout the game until a late 10-0 run helped LSU Eunice go ahead for good.  Jacques Clark's (Alexandria, LA, Tioga HS) (Alexandria, LA, Tioga HS) fast break layup helped give the Bengals an 81-68 edge with under five minutes to play.  Clark the game with 18 points on the afternoon.
 
Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) continued to shine in the first week of the season.  The guard pumped in 23 points to lead LSU Eunice offensively, to along with four assists. 
 
A game removed from shooting just 5-for-25 from three-point, the Bengals went 7-for-12 from deep range including a pair from Maddox and Hitchens.
 
The Bengals dominated on the glass, outrebounding Texas Prep Sports 55-33.  Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS) a snagged a team-high 18 rebounds while Dwight Simon (New Orleans, LA, Peabody HS) recorded a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.

LSUE held a slim 45-43 advantage at halftime before pulling away with the late 10-0 run. 

LSU Eunice returns to action this Tuesday when the Bengals host Lamar State College.  The men's game will cap off a doubleheader with the women.  The women's game against Angelina College is slated for a 6:00PM start time.
