FORT MYERS, Fla. – LSU Eunice took on a pair of nationally ranked programs to close out the 2018 portion of the schedule, falling in both games of the FSW Classic. The setbacks saw LSUE's win streak snapped at six games.
LSUE lost an overtime heartbreaker, 92-90, to Community College of Beaver County as well as a 98-71 setback to Florida Southwestern State College.
The Bengals return home for a January 5 date against Cedar Valley College that is set for a 4:00PM start time.

A last second lay-up in traffic from
Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS) did not connect as LSUE could not push an overtime thriller with Community College of Beaver County as the Bengals fell, 92-90.
A back and forth game throughout, the Bengals were led by five double-digit scorers including a double-double from
Jacob Maxwell (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS). The sophomore responded to his first start of the season by pouring in 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bengals fell behind double digits in the first half before a stingy 2-3 zone helped LSUE cut the Titans' halftime lead to 31-28. LSUE would take its first lead of the second half thanks to a Williams drive into the lane, making in a 49-47 contest with 13:25 left in regulation.
Both teams would trade leads, with neither team pulling ahead more than five points. LSUE would force a defensive stop to push the game to overtime, tied at 80-80.
Tyreese Robinson led CCBC with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
Dec. 29 vs. Florida Southwestern State College
A red-hot Florida Southwestern State College team was too much to overcome as LSUE fell to the Buccaneers, 98-71. The fifth-ranked NJCAA Division I team in the nation fired a blistering 54.5 percent (42-for-77) from the field.
FSW shot 64 percent from the field in the first half as the Bucs took a 59-27 edge into halftime. Keon Ellis led the FSW offensive attack scoring the first seven points of the game on his way to a team-high 21 points on the afternoon.
Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) turned in one of the best offensive performances of the season for the Bengals. The sophomore netted a career best 27 points including an impressive six three-pointers. Maddox was the lone Bengal to record double digit points. Jacob Maxwell led LSUE on the glass with ten rebounds.
LSUE fought valiantly after halftime, outscoring FSW 44-39 after intermission.
