EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice exploded out the gate to a 19-2 start and never looked back in a 114-68 victory over Louisiana Christian Post Grad. It was the Bengals' (10-10) final game before starting MISS-LOU Conference play on January 30.
The Bengals were led by six players with double-digit points including a game-high 24 points from
Caleb Starks (Lafayette, LA, Lafayette Christian HS). The sophomore went 4-for-5 from three-point range to lead LSUE's effort from downtown, knocking down 11 trifectas.
A 22-2 run in the first half would help push the Bengal lead to 66-31 at the halftime break with 11 players scoring at least a basket. LSUE would shoot 56.6 percent (47-for-83) from the floor on the night.
Jacob Maxwell (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS),
Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS),
Michael Smith Jr. (Lafayette, LA, Comeaux HS),
Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) and
Dwight Simon (New Orleans, LA, Peabody HS) would also pump in double digit points in the winning cause.
Tony Zachary led the Disciples with 20 points.
LSU Eunice will open MISS-LOU Conference play next Wednesday, January 30 at Baton Rouge CC. The Bengals will host their first conference game on February 2 at 4:00PM against Southern-Shreveport.
