BATON ROUGE, La. – Brennan Maddox tied a career-best 27 points and LSUE ripped off a 21-1 run to cruise past Baton Rouge CC, 78-61, at the Bonne Sante Wellness Center on Wednesday.  It was the Bengals' (11-10) first ever contest in the Louisiana Community Colleges Athletic Conference (LCCAC).
 
Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) poured in a game-high 27 points for the first time since a December 29 game at Florida Southwestern State.  It was his third 20-plus point game, going 10-for-19 including four three-pointers.
 
LSU Eunice held a 32-25 edge at the halftime break before exploding out of the locker rooms.  The Bengals would push their lead to as large as 27 points, 57-30, after a 21-1 run.  LSUE would shoot 57.7 percent (15-for-26) from the floor in the second half and went 14-for-17 (82.4%) from the free throw line in that span.
 
Caleb Starks (Lafayette, LA, Lafayette Christian HS) was the other Bengal to score in double digits, bucketing 16 points while Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS) neared a double-double by scoring eight points and grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds.  LSUE outrebounded BRCC 46-27.
 
LSUE will play in conference home opener this Saturday when Southern-Shreveport invades the HPRE Center.  The Bengals and Jaguars will play the back half of their doubleheader, scheduled for 4:00PM.  The game can be seen live on Bengal All-Access while Bayou Sports Network will have Randy Guillory on the call.
