TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – LSU Eunice opened up the season with a pair of wins on Sunday at the Southeastern Jamboree on the campus of Tallahassee CC.  The games are one of three exhibition events for the Bengals before the regular season opens on November 1 at home against CMP Prep Academy.
 
LSUE opened up the day with a 55-49 victory over Polk State College behind a team-high 16 points from 
Mamady Djikine (Paris, France, Lee Academy (ME)).  
Michael Smith Jr. (Lafayette, LA, Comeaux HS) was the other Bengal to record double digit points, pouring in 11.
 
Smith would pace the LSUE charge with 12 points during LSUE's 47-42 win over Florida State College-Jacksonville.
 
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) tallied eight points in each of the games, while 
Eli Mouton (Lafayette, LA, Ascension Episcopal HS) scored 13 over the doubleheader.
 
The Bengals' preseason continues next weekend on Saturday, October 12 at the Buzini.com Jamboree on the campus of LSU Alexandria.  LSUE will face CMP Prep Academy and Southeastern Baptist College with action starting at 9:00AM.
