Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice cruised to a wire-to-wire 106-53 win over Centenary JV on Saturday inside the HPRE Center. The Bengals stayed unbeaten at 6-0 on the early season with the victory.
LSU Eunice roared out to a 31-5 start in the first ten minutes of the game as the Bengals would build as large as a 36-point lead in the first half.
The Bengals had five players in double figures headlined by
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) with 14 points off of the bench.
Tyrese Sam (Abbeville, LA, Abbeville HS) also poured in 10 points as a reserve as LSUE piled up 62 points off of the bench.
Mamady Djikine (Paris, France, Lee Academy (ME)) continued his fast start to the season, scoring 12 points to go along with eight rebounds. Djikine has recorded a double-digit point effort in all six of LSUE's games.
Jonathan Cisse (Grand Coteau, LA, St. Thomas More HS) (10 points) and
Jevon Berry (Arnaudville, LA, Cecilia HS) (11 points) also tallied double-digit point efforts.
LSUE shot at a fast pace, going 44-for-93 (47.3%) from the field including 8-for-25 (32.0%) from three-point distance.
The Bengals hit the early season tournament circuit early this week at the Wildcat Classic on the campus of Pearl River CC. LSUE takes on East Mississippi CC on Monday, November 18 at 5:30PM followed by the homestanding Wildcats on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:30PM.
LSUE returns home next weekend for a pair of 2:00PM tilts against Louisiana Christian Post Grad and Jarvis Christian College JV.
