Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice used a big run in the first half to separate from Louisiana Christian Post Grad in a 97-67 win on Saturday at the HPRE Center. The Bengals (7-2) improved to 6-0 on the season at home.
The Bengals trailed the Disciples 9-8 early in the first half before rattling off a 22-2 run to take the lead for good.
Mamady Djikine (Paris, France, Lee Academy (ME)) led the LSUE charge in the first half with 16 of his 20 points coming before intermission. Djikine also led the team in rebounds with eight boards.
LSUE led 51-29 at the half and would up its lead to 32 points early in the second half.
Jevon Berry (Arnaudville, LA, Cecilia HS) and
Semaj Matthews (New Orleans, LA, Landry-Walker HS) joined with Djikine to help the Bengals control inside with LSUE scoring 58 points in the paint. Berry (14 points) and Matthews (10 points) each scored in double digits for the Bengals.
Jonathan Cisse (Grand Coteau, LA, St. Thomas More HS) and
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) were the other LSUE players to record a double-digit point effort with 11 and 12 points, respectively. The Bengals had 12 different players score at least a point.
LSUE will hit the road on Tuesday, November 26 for a date against Lee College. The action from Baytown, Texas will begin at 7:00PM.
