Box Score EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice went virtually wire-to-wire to upend Northwestern JV 103-64 on Saturday inside the HPRE Center. The Bengals (4-0) stayed unbeaten on the early season during the team's season opening four-game homestand.
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) came off the bench to lead the team with 12 points on the afternoon. The freshman was one of four double-digit scorers.
LSUE used a 13-0 run early in the first half to take a 17-4 lead and never looked back, grabbing a 29-point advantage at the half time break, 56-27.
The Bengals got a performance from the reserves, as LSUE's bench accounted for 68 points highlighted by Payne,
Brandon Davis (LaPlace, LA, East St. John HS) (10 points) and
Stefano Jean-Louis (Lamentin, Martinique, Gateway Legacy Christian) (10 points).
Mamady Djikine (Paris, France, Lee Academy (ME)) was the lone starter to record double-digit points with 11 points.
Semaj Matthews (New Orleans, LA, Landry-Walker HS) was the high rebounder for LSUE with eight boards in 10 minutes of action.
LSUE hits the road for the first time this regular season on Tuesday, November 12 for a date at Lamar State College-Port Arthur. Tip-off from the Carl Parker Center is scheduled for 6:00PM.
