BATON ROUGE, La. – Despite a late surge, LSU Eunice could not overcome Baton Rouge as the Bengals fell 68-63 on Wednesday at Bonne Sante Wellness Center. It was LSUE's (12-15) final road game of its inaugural season.
After trailing 34-25 at halftime, the Bengals fought back to tie the game in the second half, 42-42. BRCC would rattle off an 8-0 run to regain control. LSUE would claw back into striking distance, but could not piece together a rally in the final minutes.
Kaedrick Williams (Ruston, LA, Lincoln Prep HS) led all scorers with 16 points as the sophomore also notched a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Brennan Maddox (Fairview, LA, Fairview HS) (14 points),
Jacob Maxwell (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) (10 points) and
Caleb Starks (Lafayette, LA, Lafayette Christian HS) (10 points) also recorded double digit point efforts for the Bengals.
BRCC was led by 15 points from Caleb Hebert.
LSU Eunice returns home for the final two games of the season starting this Saturday. LSUE welcomes Southern-Shreveport to town for a 4:00PM tip-off. The game can be seen live on Bengal All-Access as well as heard on the Bayou Sports Network.
