EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice exploded for nine runs in the second inning to help pave the way to a 12-0 victory over LSU Alexandria JV on Wednesday at Bengal Stadium.  It was the Bengals' (33-5) seventh shut-out of the season.
 
LSUE belted a pair of home runs in the second inning to catapult past the Generals.  Nick Bellina started the scoring with a one-out two-run home run.  The Bengals would later load the bases to set up Tristan Welch for a grand slam to make it an 8-0 game.  A bases loaded walk by Bren Faulk later would cap the scoring in the inning.
 
Blade Richard gave LSUE double digits for the 23rd time this season with a fifth inning RBI single.  Slate Fuller would triple home a run an inning later and finish the scoring by coming home on a passed ball.
 
Fuller was the only Bengal to have a multi-hit game, going 3-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored.
 
Kade Gonsoulin (W, 4-1) picked up the win after tossing five shut-out innings.  The freshman sat down six batters while scattering three hits. Brennan Maddox, Jack Merrifield and Slate Fuller would finish off the game with two innings of combined relief.
 
LSUE welcomes Baton Rouge CC to the Cajun Prairie on Friday for the start of a home-and-home weekend series with the Bears.  First pitch from Bengal Stadium is scheduled for 6:00PM and can be seen live on Bengals All-Access.
