BEEVILLE, Texas. – LSU Eunice baseball continued to show its dominance in a pair of road wins on Saturday at Joe Hunter Field on the campus of Coastal Bend College. 
 
The Bengals (19-0) upended South Suburban College 12-2, followed by a 13-1 win over the homestanding Cougars.  LSUE belted an astonishing 25 runs off 23 hits in just 14 innings of play.
 
Hunter Tabb (Scott, LA, Acadiana HS) paced the offense over the day with a four-hit afternoon, belting a pair of home runs and posting five RBIs and five runs scored.
 
LSUE closes out its stay in southeast Texas with a noon matchup against Coastal Bend College on Sunday.
 
Mar. 7 vs. South Suburban College – W, 12-2
A consistent offensive and defensive showing produced another runaway victory as LSUE upended South Suburban College, 12-2. 
 
The Bengals were quick on the draw in the first inning, using a pair of sacrifice hits sandwiched between a Jarrett McDonald RBI single to take a 3-0 lead.
 
LSUE starting pitcher Simon Miller (Canton, TX, Canton HS) would do the rest the preserve the win, allowing just two run scoring opportunities for South Suburban in six innings of work.  The Bulldogs would post a two-run double in the third, Miller's only blemish as the Texas native returned to the Lone Star State.  Miller (W, 5-0) scattered three hits and four walks while striking out seven batters.
 
Dalton Burrell (Bossier City, LA, Airline HS) would pitch a perfect seventh inning with one punch out.
 
Clinging to a 4-2 lead in the fourth inning, River Town (Zachary, LA, Zachary HS) jump-started the LSUE offense with a solo home run to right field.  After adding another run in the inning off an error, Hunter Tabb extended the lead to 7-2 with a RBI double, followed by another LSUE run off a Bulldog error.
 
Town and Tabb would continue their power display, each belting solo home runs in the sixth and seventh innings respectively.  Town became the first Bengal since Hayden Mixon (April 23 vs. Wharton County) in 2018 to blast a pair of home runs in one game.
 
The duo joined Jack Merrifield (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS) and Ayden Makarus (Okatoks, Alberta, Canada, Foothills Composite HS) with multi-hit games to lead LSUE's 13-hit attack.
 
Mar. 7 vs. Coastal Bend College – W, 13-1
LSUE's power surge would continue in the nightcap with a 13-1 victory over Coastal Bend College.  The Bengals would score eight runs in the first three innings and never look back, producing the team's 12th mercy-rule victory of the season.
 
Scott Jones (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) was an early catalyst for the Bengals, doubling home the first run of the game and then scoring off a Jarrett McDonald (Sterlington, LA, Sterlington HS) double to make it 2-0 LSUE.  The Bengals would add four more runs in the second including a Jones sacrifice fly.  The redshirt freshman finished the night 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.
 
Hunter Tabb pushed the Bengals' lead to 7-0 in the third with a RBI triple and would later punctuate the night with a towering two-run home run to left center to make it a 12-0 LSUE advantage.
 
LSUE would total seven extra base hits on the game including a season-high five doubles.  The speedy Bengals also stole eight bases, including a game-high three from River Town.
 
Drew Lasseigne (Greenwell Springs, LA, Central HS) continued his steady start to the season, tossing five shutout innings.  The freshman gave up two hits and four walks while striking out eight batters.  Drew Lasseigne (Greenwell Springs, LA, Central HS) and Austin Andrishok (Baton Rouge, LA, Catholic-Baton Rouge HS) would each pitch an inning of relief.
