EUNICE, LA – A quick 11-0 run to start the game was all LSU Eunice needed to jump start the Bengals to a 91-65 victory over East Texas Baptist JV on Wednesday inside the HPRE Center.
LSUE used three quick three pointers in the first two minutes of the game for its early run.
Jonathan Cisse (Grand Coteau, LA, St. Thomas More HS) netted a pair from downtown while
Tyrese Sam's (Abbeville, LA, Abbeville HS) trifecta at 11:57 made it 11-0 LSUE. The Bengals would never dip below a double-digit advantage.
Cisse scored 19 of his game-high 25 points in the first half, including 4-for-7 from three-point range to help LSUE take a 51-37 lead into halftime.
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) and
Joshua Davis (Houston, TX, Concordia Lutheran HS) were the two other Bengals record double-digit point efforts while 15 different players scored at least a point.
The Bengals are scheduled for one more non-conference game before tipping off LCCAC play on February 17 against Delgado CC. LSUE travels to face North American University on Saturday, February 6 at 6:00PM from Houston Texas.
