EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Basketball is set to open its fourth season of NJCAA action this Monday as the Bengals host Bossier Parish CC.  The action from the HPRE Center is scheduled to start at 6:00PM.
 
The Bengals enter the new year with head coach Byron Starks fresh off a second consecutive Louisiana Community College Athletic Conference (LCCAC) regular season championship.
 
"We are excited about the new season as our young men have shown great promise in preseason camp," LSU Eunice Men's Basketball head coach Byron Starks said.  "Our team will get to challenge themselves early before looking to defend their conference title."
 
The non-conference schedule is highlighted with several home-and-home series including Bossier Parish CC (Nov. 1), Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (Nov. 8), Southwest Mississippi CC (Nov.19), Lee College (Dec. 18) and Grayson College (Jan. 4).
 
The Bengals head to Port Arthur, Texas on November 5 for a season opening weekend tournament, The Texas-Louisiana Showdown, for contests against Blinn College and host Lamar State College.
 
LSU Eunice will play a total of six non-conference home games including a January 4 tilt against SAU Tech.  LCCAC play will begin at the HPRE Center on January 26 against Baton Rouge CC.
 
The Bengals return two starters from last season's LCCAC Championship squad.  Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) is back after a first-team all-LCCAC campaign averaging 17.0 points per game.  John Kenoye (Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Lee Academy (ME)) will provide a presence inside after averaging 18 minutes a game and 3.8 rebounds a night.
