EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice could not keep down a hot shooting Southwest Mississippi squad as the Bengals fell at home 76-60 on Thursday at the HPRE Center. The Bengals (3-4) faced a Bears team that shot 50 percent from the floor (27-for-54) while making 10 three-pointers.
LSUE held a lead early, 8-6, before Southwest used an 11-0 run in the first half to take a 25-12 advantage. The Bengals trailed 40-28 at the halftime break.
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) led the Bengals with 16 points, with
Moses Nuangki (Adelaide, Australia, Carlisle School (VA)) and
Bryce Roberts (Bossier City, LA, Parkway HS) each added 10 points.
Magok Manyang (Adelaide, Australia, Trinity College HS) flirted with a double-double, posting eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
The Bengals begin a three-game road trip on Tuesday, November 23 with a game at Lee College in Baytown, Texas. Tip-off for the Thanksgiving week game is set for 7:00PM.
