EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice enjoyed a wire-to-wire 90-68 victory over Southern-Shreveport on Saturday inside the HPRE Center. The Bengals (10-0, 8-0 LCCAC) stayed unbeaten on the season and conference calendar, and on the cusp of securing a second straight LCCAC crown.
The Bengals roared from the start, jumping out to a quick double-digit lead. LSUE was helped from sharp outside shooting before halftime connecting on eight three-point baskets, going 8-for-16 from downtown before the break. For the game, LSUE was 11-for-26 (42.3%) from outside shooting.
Joshua Davis (Houston, TX, Concordia Lutheran HS) led the three-point barrage with three makes beyond the arc, scoring eight of his 13 points before half as LSUE held a comfortable 48-27 lead at intermission.
In addition to three-point success, LSUE had shared success with 21 assists on 31 made field goals.
Papa Malick Mactar Thiam (Thies, Senegal, Central Pointe Academy (FL)) led that cause with five assists to go along with seven rebounds.
The Bengals lead would hover around 20 points for the entirety of the second half
Jonathan Cisse (Grand Coteau, LA, St. Thomas More HS) paced LSUE in scoring, pouring in 19 points. The sophomore was one of three players to score in double figures along with Davis and
Dhol Majak (Glendale, AZ, Ironwood HS).
LSU Eunice hits the road on Wednesday to take on Baton Rouge CC at 7:30PM.
