EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice dug itself an early hole and could never record as the Bengals were handed a 9-1 loss to LSU Alexandria on Saturday at Lady Bengal Field. The loss snapped a seven game win streak for the Bengals (21-9 record).
The Generals capitalized on LSUE miscues in the first inning, using three walks, a single and a three-run home run to take the lead out of the gate. The Bengals issued eight free passes in the game.
LSUE had its opportunities, scoring its only run in the second inning off an
Ashlyn Roach (Calhoun, LA, West Ouachita HS) RBI single. The Bengals were held to three hits, the second lowest output of the season.
LSUA would put the game away for good with six runs in the fourth inning, five coming with two outs. Another three-run home run put the game out of reach at the final score of 9-1.
The Bengals will be back at home Sunday, March 21 for a doubleheader against San Jacinto College. First pitch is at 1:00PM.
