LeJeune collected eight hits over the two games, driving in 10 runs and scoring four times.  The Teurlings Catholic HS product drove in four runs in a 15-5 opener, followed by a perfect 5-for-5 game in an 18-0 rout of the Bears.

The Bengals collected five home runs over the twinbill including a pair from LeJeune.

Game 1 vs. Baton Rouge CC – W, 15-5
A five-run second inning helped jumpstart LSU Eunice on its way to a 15-5 victory over Baton Rouge CC in seven innings.  The Bengals scored 12 unanswered runs to secure their 13th mercy rule victory of the season.

After BRCC opened the scoring with a home run in the bottom of the first, the Bengals responded with authority plating five runs off seven hits.  The first five batters reached base safely with Beau Kirsch (Lafayette, LA, Acadiana HS) and Brady Hebert (Baton Rouge, LA, Catholic-Baton Rouge HS) connecting on two-run base hits.

The Bengals would push the lead to 6-1 in the fourth, capitalizing off one of five Bear errors that allowed Carter Quinn (Lake Charles, LA, Barbe HS) to score.

LSUE went ahead for good with a six-run sixth inning, as five different Bengals drove in runs.  After BRCC crept back to make it 12-3, Peyton LeJeune blasted a three-run home run to end the Bengal scoring.

LeJeune went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and a run scored to lead the 18-hit attack.  Hebert and Hunter Tabb (Scott, LA, Acadiana HS) also had three hit games while Jack Merrifield (Prairieville, LA, Dutchtown HS), Scott Jones (Sulphur, LA, Sulphur HS) and Kirsch added multi-hit outings.

The offensive explosion was aided by a complete game effort from Jerry Couch (Bossier City, LA, Airline HS)h.  The sophomore improved to 9-1 on the campaign after scattering eight hits and one walk while striking out four batters.

Game 2 vs. Baton Rouge CC – W, 18-0
The Bengal bats continued to catch fire as LSU Eunice won 18-0 in five innings to close out the twinbill.  LSUE saw nine different players record a hit as the Bengals pounded nine extra base hits.

The Bengals scored in each inning as Jarrett McDonald started the runaway win with a two-run double in the first inning.  The lead swelled to 4-0 an inning later after Brady Hebert and Peyton LeJeune drove in runs.

LeJeune was a catalyst throughout the game, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBis and three runs scored.  LeJeune would drive in at least a run in four of the five innings and finish a triple shy of the cycle.

The third inning saw LSUE blast four home runs with Jarrett McDonald (Sterlington, LA, Sterlington HS), Scott Jones, Beau Kirsch and LeJeune all connecting on round trippers.  McDonald knocked his team's best 11th of the season.

After adding three more runs in the fourth, the Bengals pumped in five more in the fifth including Bryce LaRocca (Lake Charles, LA, Barbe HS), Thomas Papadopoulos (Brooklyn, NY, Xaverian HS) and Cole Romero (Scott, LA, Acadiana HS) who drove in runs in pinch hit opportunities.

Jackson Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX, Kingwood Park HS) delivered a second straight complete game performance from the LSUE pitching staff.  The freshman gave up just two hits with five strikeouts.  Rodrigurez retired the first six batters he faced in order, would only see three hitters reach base and induced a game ending double play.
