EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice used a big run midway through the second half to score a runaway 67-51 victory over Baton Rouge CC on Saturday at the HPRE Center. The win helped the Bengals (12-6 overall, 4-0 LCCAC) stay unbeaten and atop the LCCAC standings.
LSUE led from start to finish, taking a 34-26 advantage into the halftime break. It would stay an eight-point edge until the Bengals used a 16-4 run to see their lead grow past double digits.
Bryce Roberts (Bossier City, LA, Parkway HS) sank a corner three at the 15:33 mark to trigger the LSUE run.
Isaiah Payne (Ville Platte, LA, Pine Prairie HS) scored seven of his game-high 16 points in that nearly five-minute span.
Roberts was the other LSUE player to score double digits, going 2-for-3 from downtown. LSUE enjoyed a balanced effort in the scoring column with 11 different players scoring at least a basket.
Jordan Hayes (Grand Prairie, TX, Mansfield Lake Ridge HS) would again flirt with a near triple-double tallying eight points, a team-high six rebounds and eight assists.
The Bengals will hit the road on Wednesday for a game at Delgado CC. The Bengals and Dolphins will tip-off at 7:30PM.
