SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Eunice Men's Basketball's offense clicked on all cylinders as the Bengals blew past Southern-Shreveport 111-75 on Wednesday. The 111 points set a single-game record for LSU Eunice (14-3 overall, 3-0 LCCAC) in a conference game.
The win extended LSUE's conference in win streak to 26 games, dating back to the 2019-2020 season.
After both teams felt each other out in the first few minutes, LSUE would roar past the Jaguars, building a 56-37 halftime edge. The backcourt duo of
Nasir DeGruy (New Orleans, LA, St. Augustine HS) and
Bryce Roberts (Bossier City, LA, Parkway HS) were the spark plugs of the high-powered offense, combining 26 first half points.
Roberts enjoyed a career night, pouring in 35 points in a homecoming game for the Shreveport area native. Roberts would go 14-for-20 from the field including 6-for-11 from three point range. The sophomore flirted with a triple-double as he snagged a team-high nine rebounds to go with three assists.
The Bengals were deadly from beyond the arc, knocking down 16 trifectas. Roberts led that group with six while seven other Bengals would make at least one.
DeGruy added 12 points while
Kiani Saxon (Auckland, New Zealand, Liston College) was the other double digit point scorer with 11 points.
