EUNICE, La. – LSU Eunice Women's Basketball wrapped up the regular season and LCCAC play with a 94-45 victory over Southern-Shreveport on Wednesday in the HPRE Center. The Bengals (22-6, 9-0 LCCAC) went undefeated in conference play for the fourth time in program history, and first time since the 2019-20 season.
The Bengals now await the conclusion of the MACCC schedule for its first-round draw of the Region 23 Tournament. LSUE is projected to host a first-round game on Thursday, March 5 against an opponent to be announced.
After a slow start in the first quarter, the Bengals jumped ahead for good with a 24-point second quarter.
Saidastiny Stewart (Baton Rouge, LA, Dulles HS (TX)) led the charge, pouring in 11 of her team-high 18 points in the frame before intermission. LSUE held a 42-26 advantage at halftime.
LSUE would explode for a 36-point third quarter to push its lead past 30 points.
Edurne Diaz de la Serna Munoz (Ripollet, Spain, Institut Palau Ausit) and
Izabella Henry (Hornbeck, LA, Anacoco HS) provided the spark in the frame, combining for 24 points in the quarter. Diaz would finish with 13 points while Henry recorded 15.
Paulina Reichenauer (Waiblingen, Germany, Salier Gymnasium) was the other Bengal with a double-digit point game, scoring 10.
