Softball Suffers Sweep At Bossier Parish

BOSSIER CITY, La. – LSU Eunice Softball fell in both games of a Friday doubleheader at Bossier Parish CC.  The Bengals enter the final month of the regular season with a 30-13 record.

LSUE fell in the first game 13-9, giving up a late lead and dropped a 3-0 decision in the finale.  The Bengals are back in action in their home finale on Wednesday, April 15 against Baton Rouge CC.

Game 1 vs. Bossier Parish CC – L, 9-13
LSU Eunice let a late lead slip, giving up five runs in the sixth inning during a 13-9 setback.  The two teams combined for 24 hits in the offensive showcase.

A see-saw game saw two ties and three lead changes.  LSUE took the early advantage with Makinley Harris (Denham Springs, LA, Denham Springs HS) and Jadyn Yesso (Houma, LA, Houma Christian HS) manufacturing runs in the first inning.  BPCC answered with a seven-run spurt, including a five-run third inning.

The Bengals would claw into their deficit with a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings, eventually taking the lead in the sixth inning with a three-run frame, 9-8.

Game 2 vs. Bossier Parish CC – L, 0-3
LSU Eunice did not have an answer for BPCC's Sydney Millea as the Bengals fell 3-0 to close out the Friday doubleheader.  The Bengals managed just three hits off Millea in the seven-inning contest.

BPCC got on the board in the third inning with a RBI single to left field and added two more insurance runs with a two-run homer in the sixth inning.

The Bengals' first six batters were retired in order and couldn't convert a lead off hit by pitch in the third inning into a run.  LSUE also had left two stranded in both the fourth and sixth innings.
