Hall of Fame Overview

The LSU Eunice Sports Hall of Fame was established in 2009 to honor outstanding athletes, teams, coaches, administrators and community leaders for their athletic performance, leadership, and team contributions while attending LSU Eunice.

The LSU Eunice Alumni Association, through its Board of Directors, appoints a committee to review nominations for the Sports Hall of Fame. Any alumnus, staff member, or friend of the university may make nominations for this award.

Former State Representative and Eunice Mayor Mr. Curtis Joubert, who was a founding member of the Bengal Booster Club in 2000, was the first inductee into the Hall of Fame in 2011.

Former LSU Eunice Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Stephen Guempel became the second inductee in 2012, honored for his leadership in laying the ground work to form athletic programs at the university in mid 1990s and for serving as the first Athletic Director in school history.

Each year, the new member(s) of the Hall of Fame are inducted at the annual Hall of Fame banquet, which takes place in September and features Bengal head coaches, student-athletes and prominent guest speakers, along with dinner and a silent auction, in addition to the induction ceremonies.
