Joe Fabre enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Bengals. Last season, Fabre helped the LSU Eunice baseball team to a 51-6 record and a trip to NJCAA Division II World Series.
In the 2016 season, he worked with catchers and assisted Coach Keowen with hitters. In 2017, Fabre transitioned to assist Coach Oragin with the pitching staff.
He spent the summer of 2016 as the pitching coach of Victoria Harbourcats in Victoria, British Columbia. The 2016 team set a league record for most wins in a regular season (40-14) and a league record with most consecutive wins at 15. Fabre helped guide the team to their first playoff berth and their first regular season championship.
Fabre spent 2014-15 as an assistant at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenneessee where he worked with pitchers and catchers, and assisted the coaching staff with recruiting and running youth camps. The Flames finished second in the NCCAA World Series (National Christian College Athletic Association) and ended 2015 with a 39-19-1 record.
His first season coaching was in 2013 when he was named the pitching coach for Catholic High of Pointe Coupee.
Fabre played collegiately for Lee University. He and the Flames made two trips to the NCCAA World Series, finishing third both years. In 2011, Fabre was named Lee University's relief pitcher.
Before joining Lee University, he played for LSU Eunice, making it to two NJCAA World Series in his freshman and sophomore years. In the 2009 season, the Bengals finishing in third place and in his sophomore season, Fabre was a part of the 2010 NJCAA Division II National Championship team. He pitched the Bengals to a win in both a regional and world series games in 2010.
